Glass and special crystal autoclaves


  1. Manual introduction of the platform with the glass pieces inside the autoclave
  2. Automatic horizontal and rotational closing of the door by means of pushbuttons and hydraulic cylinders.
  3. Selection of the determined cycle of treatment and locking of the door.
  4. Completion of the chosen cycle, unlocking of the door and removal of the glass loading platform.


Each process is based on programmed segments of temperature, pressure and maintenance time.

Each segment is based on the following sub-stages:

  1. Pressurization and heating ramp.
  2. Maintenance.
  3. Depressurization and cooling ramp.

In the ramp it is controlled that the temperature and pressure rise or fall, according to the ratios of temperature (ºC/min) and pressure (bar/min) programmed in the PLC. Different ratios can be programmed and usually range between 0.5 bar/min (for pressurization and depressurization) and between 0.5 and 2 ºC/min (for heating and cooling).

During the maintenance phase, the programmed temperature and pressure conditions are maintained for a certain time.

During any of the cycles, the pressure can be adjusted at will at any time within the physical limitations imposed by the fluids and systems used. 

The air flow for the pressurization and depressurization process is automatically regulated by means of a proportional valve that allows to adjust the ramp (bar/min).

The heating process is carried out by means of a battery of electrical resistances and recirculating air by means of a turbine installed inside the autoclave. The air is distributed homogeneously throughout the autoclave cylinder thanks to the air circulation system concentric to the cylinder. In this way, it is guaranteed that the temperature is homogeneous throughout the surface of the glass.  The air flow is regulated by means of a frequency converter to achieve the desired temperature rise ramp. 

The heating process can also be carried out with a thermal oil boiler, as an alternative to the battery of electrical resistances.

The cooling process is carried out by introducing water into a water radiator installed at the rear of the autoclave. The adjustment of the water flow in combination  with the speed of the air turbine, allows to adjust the cooling ramp.

When the treatment cycle is finished and the autoclave is depressurized and cooled down, the door automatically unlocks and the operator can open it to extract the platform with the treated glass pieces. 

The duration of the process is variable and depends on the physical properties of the glass pieces to be treated.
